To assess the role of BC from biomass burning as an INP, we determined the contribution of refractory BC (rBC)-containing particles to from field measurements of both prescribed burns and wildfires using the single-particle soot photometer coupled to a continuous-flow diffusion chamber (SP2-CFDC) ( 29, 30).
